Cataract Canyon, 4 days, 3 nights

This a very popular whitewater expedition, taking you over 25 named rapids including Capsize, Brown Betty, Been Hurt and the famed Big Drops, 1,2 & 3. At high water these can be the highest in North America. The expedition sets out from Moab, Utah and the for the first day and a half you enjoy sun, swimming and silence as you drift through red rock canyons soaring up to 2000 feet above the river. Don’t get complacent – towards the second day you encounter your first rapid. You’ll be too thrilled to be frightened ! On day three you get mostly rapids. Come day four you glide into Lake Powell. To top off your Cataract Canyon expedition, you fly back to Moab over the course of your last three days and over the wild beauty of Canyonlands National Park. The 4 day expedition departs every Sunday during the season, at 7.30 am. For those with limited time, the 3 day expedition could be the one to choose – this popular trip covers the exact same course as the 4 day trip, but the pace is quite a bit faster.

This is one of the best two day white water rafting trips around. It gives you a real taste of adventure and in just two days you get to the heart of western American wilderness. An exciting day of rapids in Westwater Canyon will make you feel like you’ve just spent a week in the backcountry ! You’ll encounter 12 agitated, brawling rapids in one of the more unusual canyons in the West. As you float down canyon, the walls squeeze the river into a narrow gorge where it erupts into spectacular rapids. The results are big holes and big waves. In a small row raft you are as close to the action as you can be as your expert guide negotiates Funnel Falls, Skull Rapid and Sock It To Me.
