Kenya and Tanzania in east Africa offer a whole host of fantastic National Parks for you to discover. Out Of Africa

This safari offers an incredible journey into the more remote parts of Samburu and the Mara, and includes unique lodges with great character inspired by travellers of old. On arrival in Kenya you will stay in Giraffe Manor which is thirty minutes from the centre of Nairobi and surrounded by 140 acres of its own park and forest. Here you can feed and photograph giraffes at close range.
The next stop is the intimate Bedouin Camp, named in honour of nomadic tribes of the region. Kenya Royal

Sopa Serengeti – Tanzania

In addition to abundant game to view in the renowned Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, we include a visit to the Tarangire National Park. Tarangire’s river attracts numerous game and this park has a particularly dense wildlife population between June and October. There are always a fantastic number of colourful birds.
Sopa lodges are notable for their grand, visually stunning public areas, excellent dining and large, well-appointed rooms. Each lodge offers a swimming pool, nightly wildlife films, an opulent bar and lounge area and a wide variety of cuisine.

Masai Safari

Travelling through some of the richest game areas in the world, the Masai Safari presents excellent opportunities for viewing the ‘big five’. It includes the Masai Mara, home to the greatest wildlife show on earth.

The Samburu Reserve, home to the colourful Samburu peoples, is a dramatic and rugged landscape, which is truly rewarding. A host of plains game along with the ‘big five’ are accompanied by a variety of exotic birds including eagles, falcons and bateleurs.

As you approach Lake Nakuru, you may be fortunate enough to witness a pink cloud on the horizon which gradually reveals its source, thousands of pink flamingos, a magnificent sight of immense beauty. Around the lake a game reserve has been created where the endangered black rhino is protected and may be seen along with antelope, giraffes, lions and hyenas.

Your Safari Vehicle

Safari vehicles are driven by expert driver/guides, who have extensive knowledge of the regions and wildlife. The above Safari itineraries unless stated will be travelling in the Somak microbuses. The Somak microbuses in Kenya have game viewing hatches (accessible from the rear seats) and are equipped with a cool box for you to store your drinks. All Kenya safaris, unless otherwise indicated, use a maximum of seven seats, thus guaranteeing you a window seat. For your privacy, you may request the use of an exclusive vehicle for yourself and your companions. Four-wheel drive vehicles are available for a supplement and seat up to five or seven passengers (all with window seats) and have game viewing roof hatches. Tanzania safaris operate using 4-wheel drive vehicles accommodating five or seven passengers.

Luxury Camps

Elsa’s Kopje, Meru National Park, Kenya

This is the site of George Adamson’s first camp, and is named after Elsa, the famous orphaned lioness.  The lodge offers nine individually designed thatch and stone cottages, the family cottage boasts its own private swimming pool.
Game drives are available day and night in open 4 wheel drive vehicles.
Includes all meals, soft drinks, beer and house wine, park fees and scheduled activities.

Klein’s Camp, Northern Serengeti, Tanzania
This camp boasts an amazing location, bordered by the Masai Mara and the Serengeti, the return route for the October/November wildebeest migration. Night game drives and bush walks are offered at Klein’s and driving off-road in open game vehicles is permitted. Includes all meals, local drinks, park fees and scheduled activities.

Selous Safari Camp, Selous National Park, Tanzania
This camp is designed to blend in with the spectacular scenery in the Selous Game Reserve. Nine tented suites, each on its own raised timber-framed platform, offer en-suite bathrooms, the camps pool is popular for cooling off. Selous Private Camp boasts four tented suites. Located on the banks of Lake Nzerakera. Includes all meals, park fees and scheduled activities.

Greystoke Mahale Camp, Tanzania
Greystoke Mahale Camp is famed for its chimpanzees. From the moment you arrive at this luxurious camp, you will be in awe of the setting. Located on the shores on Lake Tanganyika, the Mahale Mountains rise from behind the camp. Accommodation is in open-fronted cottages, with decks upstairs where you can relax after a day of searching for chimpanzees in the wild.

Governors’ Il Moran, Masai Mara
This exclusive camp is situated on the banks of the Mara River in the heart of the best game-viewing area of the Masai Mara. The camp recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting safaris. Each of the ten luxury suite tents offers hand carved bed, Victorian style bath, double size shower and large veranda for private dining. Cordon-bleu candlelit dinners are also served deep in the bush.

Bateleur Camp, Masai Mara
Two exquisite nine suite camps designed to transport guests to the heyday of romantic colonial safaris. The fan-cooled tenets reflect well-travelled luxury, complete with hardwood floors, needlepoint rugs and crisp linen beds. Activities include game drives, guided walks and Masai community visits. The camp falls in the path of the annual migration when, between July and Spetember, over one million wildebeest and zebra may be witnessed.

Bedouin Camp, Samburu National Reserve, Kenya
Expereience Kenyan safariing at its most elegant within the pristine wilderness of the Samburu Game Reserve. Shaded by trees and palms, six opulently furnished tents boast Persian rugs, four-poster beds and bathrooms with flushing toilets and safari style canvas baths. Join game drives, watch elephants while you lunch alfresco, and later dine silver-and-crystal style under shimmering candelabras attended by liveried waiters.

Loisaba, Laikipia, Kenya
A working game ranch in 60,000 acres of wilderness within the private Laikipia conservancy, Loisaba features spectacular rooms with French windows opening onto a cantilevered deck over an escarpment. Two sets of unique handcrafted Star Beds – partially thatched and set on raised platforms – are accessible, amongst other ways, by horse or camel expedtion. Recreations include seaonsal river rafting, croquet, swimming and relaxing in the outdoor bubble bath.

Jongomero, Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
For anyone seeking a ture African experience, a visit to Ruaha National Park is essential. Although the second largest in Tanzania, the reserve is perhaps the least weill known, and yet to connoisseurs it is without doubt one of the most spectacular in Africa. Jongomero is set in the souther-most expanse of Ruaha and comprises eight tented suites with luxurious en suite bathrooms.

Klein’s Camp, Northern Serengeti, Tanzania
Envied for its location, the camp is bordederd by the Masai Mara and Serengeti – return route for the October/November migration when wildebeest and zebra fill the valley below. Unique in Tanzania, night game drives and bush walks are offered and driving off-road in open game vehicles is permitted. Masai trackers will teach their skills and traditional community visits can be arranged.

  • In March 1998 Sarova Shaba Game Lodge played host to the cast and crew of “Born Free”, the true-life story of George & Joy Adamson. Some scenes were shot at the lodge.
  • The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles and has been called the eigth wonder of the world.
  • Between late January and mid-March the wildebeest calving season takes place in the Serengeti. At its peak about 80% of the pregnant females give birth within three weeks
