Tanzania in east Africa offers a whole host of fantastic National Parks for you to discover. Tanzania Royal – Flying Safari

Serena Serengeti

Best of Northern Tanzania
Visiting some remote parts of Tanzania’s game parks, this trip undoubtedly includes the best of the area. Accommodation is in charming and intimate camps and lodges. One night is spent at a coffee plantation in an exclusive boutique lodge. In the bush you stay at small or mobile camps, all sited for maximum game viewing. Gibbs Farm is an old colonial farmhouse which offers a wonderful warm welcome. In the Serengeti we stay in mobile camps which move according to where the best game viewing is at the time of year you travel. They offer prime wildlife viewing, away from the crowds. North to South in Tanzania
Your safari in Tanzania will take in the best of the north and south of the country. Sopa Serengeti

Klein’s Camp, Northern Serengeti
Envied for its location, the camp is bordered by the Masai Mara and Serengeti – return route for the October/November migration when wildebeest and zebra fill the valley below. Unique in Tanzania, night game drives and bush walks are offered and driving off-road in open game vehicles is permitted. Masai trackers will teach their skills and traditional community visits can be arranged.
Grumeti River Camp, Serengeti
Flanked by two hillsides, this blissful camp nestles beneath tall trees on the banks of an oxbow tributary of the Grumeti River. It is one of the wildest and most remote camps in Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuary, the Serengeti. Situated in the remote western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. This unspoilt wilderness is not only famous for its river nut also for the thousands of animals that have to wade across it every year during the ‘great migration’. Greystoke Mahale Camp is famed for its chimpanzees. From the moment you arrive at this luxurious camp, you will be in awe of the setting. Located on the shores on Lake Tanganyika, the Mahale Mountains rise from behind the camp. Accommodation is in open-fronted cottages, with decks upstairs where you can relax after a day of searching for chimpanzees in the wild.
Selous Safari Camp, Selous National Park
This camp is designed to blend in with the spectacular scenery in the Selous Game Reserve. Nine tented suites, each on its own raised timber-framed platform, offer en-suite bathrooms, the camps pool is popular for cooling off. Selous Private Camp boasts four tented suites. Located on the banks of Lake Nzerakera. Includes all meals, park fees and scheduled activities.
Selous Impala, Selous National Park
Selous Impala Camp enjoys a perfect location on the banks of the rippling Rufiji River, in Africa’s oldest and most spectacular game reserve. This untouched and uninhabited area is home to a huge variety of game and some of the largest herds of elephants in the world. Set amidst shady palms and Tamarind trees, Selous Impala Camp provides excellent comfort, superb wildlife and opportunities for dining under the stars. Situated in Selous Game Reserve on the banks of the Rufiji River. There are just 8 beautifully furnished tents, including one family tent (which is two separate en suite tents on the same platform). All the tents are built on platforms, with an en suite shower and flush loo, equipped with luxurious furniture, dressing area and spacious verandah. These are set amidst borassa palms and tamarind trees and provide superb views of the Rufiji River and its wildlife.

Sand Rivers Selous, Selous National Park
It is a smart, permanent lodge, stylishly designed in thatch and stone flagstones with views over a wide and dramatically rocky stretch of the Rufiji River, that runs through the north of the Selous Game Reserve. Situated in the Selous Game Reserve, which is home to such a Noah’s ark of wildlife that it has been made a World Heritage Site. Sand Rivers Selous lies in close proximity to Steigler’s Gorge, Lake Tagalala and the Beho Beho hot springs. 5 standard rooms and two suites, each with its own spacious bathroom with powerful showers, four-poster bed and a standing fan. Chada Katavi, Katavi National Park
From its elevated vantage point on a peninsula that rises out of the Miombo woodland, the camp is perfectly positioned for panoramic views over the Chada plain. Hidden in a shady area of acacias and tamarinds, the camp is invisible against the browns and gold’s of the surrounding bush. Come dinner time, the mess is nothing short of splendid, silverware and glasses shining in the lamplight.

- In March 1998 Sarova Shaba Game Lodge played host to the cast and crew of “Born Free”, the true-life story of George & Joy Adamson. Some scenes were shot at the lodge.
- The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles and has been called the eighth wonder of the world.
- Between late January and mid-March the wildebeest calving season takes place in the Serengeti. At its peak about 80% of the pregnant females give birth within three weeks
