Legal requirements

  • 10 year passports are required
  • Copies of birth certificate
  • If your name has been changed by Deed Poll, legal proof is required
  • If divorced, Decree Absolute
  • If widowed, death certificate of former spouse and previous marriage certificate must be produced
  • Couples must be 18 or over
  • If single, affidavit to confirm status signed by a solicitor
  • Both parties must produce some form of identification which has a photograph attached and which must have been issued by a Government Office in the countries where the parties reside
  • The parties must produce evidence of the date of arrival in the Bahamas
  • Copies of all documents are required six weeks prior to departure
  • Original documents are to be hand-carried in resort
  • Please note: Weddings will not be held directly on the beach

Honeymoons

New Providence, the main island is home to the capital Nassau and is linked by a causeway to Paradise Island, home to lively nightlife and the Atlantis resort – a visit to its aquarium is a must. A romantic honeymoon would not be complete with a swim with the dolphins experience, all available here in the Bahamas.
